The 700-foot private beach is a true gem; it isn’t available to the entire resort, but is open to those staying in the Mansion. There are three fitness center options, as well as a full-service spa. While heading off-property is always nice, there are plenty of dining options on-site, too, with four main restaurants throughout the Mansion and Villages sides, in addition to bars and casual beach eateries. This is also a great option if you want to see Cape Cod in the off-season, as while many Cape Cod resorts are only open during the summer months, this beachfront property welcomes guests year-round. You won't find bustling boardwalks, sleek hotels, or grids of cars with clunky bike racks trapped in traffic in Chincoteague.

The quaint beauty of Chincoteague includes trails for hiking, beaches, and a red and white lighthouse. For the best pony views, cross over on a bike to the Maryland side of Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. This popular peninsula in Massachusetts is a vacation hotspot for good reason. While it really heats up during the summer, it's a beautiful destination year-round, and is brimming with history (head to nearby Plymouth to see where the Mayflower docked).

Located in one of Orange County’s most renowned coastal communities, Aliso Beach is famous for skimboarding—it even hosts The Vic, the prestigious annual world championship. Of course, if you’ve never tried gliding across the water’s surface—and don’t have any interest in trying it out—there’s still plenty to see and do at this renowned seaside spot. Watch the pros do what they do best or just sit on the shore and soak up the year-round sunshine.

The gray-shingled main house extends the living space outdoors with a column-supported covered patio topped by white-painted beams and exposed rafter tails. A wood deck and flagstone area give way to stepping stones, a firepit and grass bordered by mature landscaping.
